Prayer and Action is a time of prayer and discussion held each Saturday
morning from 9:30 to 10:30 in the Faith Formation Office.

Participants gather for ten minutes of silent prayer for the needs of the
world. These needs can be as world-wide as global warming or as personal
as one’s own personal struggle with his/her image of God.

After the silent prayer, each participant holds a crystal globe and shares
what he/she is concerned about and praying about. Each participant can
share (or not) as he/she holds the globe. Only the participant who is
holding the globe may speak. When a participant is finished, he/she passes
the globe to the next participant. (This process is called the circle process.)

After everyone has had a chance to speak, people may interact until 40
minutes has expired.

The last ten minutes are spent in silent prayer.

Anyone can come on any Saturday. The group usually is about 10-12
people.

Participants have found this type of prayer to be very much of a community
builder and many social justice actions have flowed from this process.

There are no expectations of any participants with regard to attendance or
actions which flow from the meetings.
