A Sacrament of Initiation

Preparation for receiving the Eucharist normally begins in the first grade
and continues through second grade.  Children in any grade are also
welcomed into a two-year First Communion program. Preparation to
receive the Sacrament is a cooperation between the parish, the School of
Religion, and the home.   A great deal depends upon the parents'
participation.  It is the parent participation that will impress upon the child
the importance of this most sacred moment.  The Parish and the Faith
Formation program serves the needs of the parents, and the faith formation
of the children is ultimately the parents’ responsibility.  Our staff is eager to
work with parents to help them fulfill this responsibility.
